Friends of the Library Scholarship
The Friends of the Valley Center Library is once again offering a one-time scholarship for area graduating seniors.
Deadline for submission is April 1. VCHS seniors should submit through the High School Counselor’s office. Other area seniors living within the boundaries of USD262 Valley Center may submit required application, supporting documents, and essay, to the Library. Reading Challenges for all ages
Amazing Authors A to Z is our year-long reading challenge for 2024. Read a minimum of 15 books before December 27 whose names begin with different letters of the alphabet. Turn in your log and receive a prize! Reading logs may be picked up at the Library.
The Smokey Bear Reading Challenge is recommended for ages 4 – 10, but is open to everyone. Take the Smokey Bear Pledge, read a minimum of 3 books about wildfires, conservation, camping, etc. (we have a recommended reading list), and complete 4 badges to receive a prize. Challenge continues through Nov. 27. Reading logs may be picked up at the Library.

Wild & Free Spring Break Movies @ the Library
Monday 3/11- Friday 3/15, Movies start at 2pm. Popcorn will be served. Water in closed lid bottle is okay to bring. Contact Library staff for accommodations.
