Library/Community Center Building is closed
The City of Valley Center announced several temporary closings of public spaces in an effort to stop the spread of the coronavirus. One of the most significant is the suspension of municipal court through May 13. Here is the city’s news release, detailing the changes:
Temporary Closing of Spaces Inside of City Facilities
In an abundance of public caution, the City of Valley Center is taking several proactive steps to combat and limit the spread of the coronavirus pandemic locally. The City of Valley Center will be temporarily closing Public Spaces inside of all City Facilities, effective Tuesday, March 17th beginning at 8:00am until further notice.
The following locations will be affected:
City Hall Lobby – Payments & Paperwork will be accepted electronically, over the phone, or via the drive-thru window during normal business hours.

Public Works/Parks/Community Development Lobby – Permits, Payments, & all Paperwork will be accepted electronically, over the phone, or via the drive-thru window at City Hall during normal business hours.

Public Safety Lobby – Payments & Paperwork will be accepted electronically, over the phone, or via the drive-thru window at City Hall during normal business hours. There will not be Finger Prints processed during this time.

Library/Community/Senior Center Lobby – Public Library will provide materials by drive-up in front of the building only if you call in advanced to make a request or via email to valleycenterlibrary@yahoo.com. Senior meals will still be provided on Tuesdays & Thursdays via drive-up on the eastside of the Community Building.

Municipal Court – Municipal Court will be suspended until Wednesday, May 13th, 2020.
No City parks are being closed at this time.
“These closures are to protect the most vulnerable members of our community and preserve access to key backup facilities in the case of an emergency shelter need,” said Mayor Lou Cicirello. “We are sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause and hope these closures are temporary.”
Valley Center City Council and Planning & Zoning Board Meetings will proceed as planned, but all non-essential city board meetings likely will be canceled or rescheduled. More specific information will be released at a later time.
