Programming for Teens & Tweens

Valley Center Public Library’s teen group, known as the TRIBE (Teens Read Interesting Books Everywhere), has programs scheduled throughout the school year, and then every other week during the summer.  During the summer, Teens & Tweens attend different events, such as, Murder Mysteries, henna tattoo parties, movie parties, Halloween Monster Mash Bash, etc.  Events usually include games, food, crafts, and special activities.

Teens may participate in the Summer Reading Challenge by keeping a log of their reading times.  Logs may be picked up at the Library.  To be eligible for prizes, teens must complete a registration form, and must read a minimum of 25 hours, returning their completed logs by the specified deadline.

The Library has several opportunities throughout the year for teens to volunteer.  Teens must be 13 years of age or older, and must submit a volunteer application for consideration.  Contact the staff at the Library for an application if interested.
